Difference from private campground and state parks camping? Ive been looking online at nearby areas to go camping (northeast ohio) Ive found a couple private family campgrounds...They seem like they have alot to offer. But I have also found state park camping...Whats the difference? Would one be better than the other? We wanna go tent camping with our two little kids.

does anyone know of some great campgrounds or state/national parks in the midwest or new england? i live in ohio so it would be nice to go someplace close. i like all ranges of camping including primitive.

Laid back campgrounds in Ohio or West Virginia, that are located within an hour from Pittsburgh, PA? A group of friends and me, totaling 8 all together, are going to a concert on labor day weekend and want a cheap place to stay. Therefore we are going camping! We are all over 21 and may want to drink a little, so a state park is out of the question. Anyone know of any chill campgrounds?

Best campgrounds in Western PA or over the border in Ohio or WV? State parks are out because no alcohol is allowed. I like to drink while camping but don't want to be in a rowdy place with roughians lol. Somewhere with good hiking trails, preferably on a lake with boat rentals, and with a bathhouse with HOT SHOWERS AND ACTUAL FLUSH TOILETS! Jamestown campground on Lake Pymatuming is nice but again its a state campground.

only for those of you in northern ohio...? Do you know of any good group campgrounds (preferredly not state parks) within about 10-15 miles of Sandusky?? Anything is helpful, thanks
