Anyone here ever hiked in Hocking Hills Ohio?

- Haven't gone hiking, but I've been in the area for festivals and the like. It's a lovely place to go visit!
- Yes, the Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave areas are beautiful since it's in the foothills of the Appalachians. They've really put a lot of money into the parks over the past 10 years, so they're even nicer than they were when I was growing up. I drove through there in early Jan. and it was so pretty...even without leaves on the trees. The overall area is very poor, but geographically beautiful.
Enjoy your hiking, but realize some of the hills are very steep.
- Ewww - dirt is gross!
- Hocking Hills is a great place to go!!! First of all, most of the parks (Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, some of the falls) are all dog accessible. My husband and I went there in September 2007 for a short little getaway and we got to take our two labs with us. We stayed in a cabin (Getaway Cabins) for a few days which had a full kitchen, bathroom, tv, and a hot tub that is cleaned before visitors get to the cabin. It is such a relaxing place to go. It really does not feel like you are on Ohio (I live in Northwest Ohio). My husband and I are planning another trip again in September so we can take our dogs again since they don’t get to go to Hawaii with us in March. I would highly recommend this place for some relaxation and the hiking is beautiful!!
