This might be a stupid question but I am honestly wondering what the answer to this question is. Please on serious answers... Last year I went hunting in Delaware County, at Alum Creek State Park.. Went camping with my kids, in the middle of the night 3 coyotes (yes coyotes live in ohio) came up to our tent and started scratching at it, we couldn't get out of the tent as they kept circling the tent, probably smelled food inside the tent. Anyways we had a cell phone and called the Delaware Sheriff because we couldn't get out.. They came about 30 mins later and tried to scare them away but they wouldn't leave so the Sheriff shot at them, and scared them away... My question is this, I now have a CCW and take my handgun with me everywhere.. If I where ever in that situation again what would happen if you took a shot at it, or just shot the gun at the ground to scare it away?

As for state parks, the state law does not prohibit firearms in parks. Some city or county laws may be different, check out the article.

Bottom line, check with the local police department to be absolutely positive, that way, if you do get stopped and asked about it, you can have all of your bases covered. It doesn't say anything about firing the gun though, that could be a totally different situation.
Best of luck and I hope you can find this useful
