How old is intelligent man - intelligent woman?

How old is intelligent woman - intelligent man? 35,000 BC? Older? Like what is the one big event most associated with intelligent man - intelligent woman and when did it happen, for example, when the first man carved the lunar cycle on an animal bone in a cave in Europe (est. 31,000 B.C.)?

  1. It is currently 2007, and i still have met so few "intelligent" people...:(

  2. I think when men first emerged they might have even been as clever as us, but they didn't have what clever people before had found out and told them. A lot of our cleverness is what we learn from the past.

  3. evolutionary theory puts man at his present intelligence at about 100,000 years ...

  4. Proto Ramapithicus 9 million years ago when they picked up sticks and used them to hit a fruit out of a tree that was out of reach. The first use of a tool. (I made up the species and the time frame but that's basically the first leap in intelligence for our ape like ancestors.)

  5. They probably occurred together and at the same time in history. Unfortunately it is possible that men back then restricted women from things like learning and other things, kind of like how many men do this today.

I have and read the book "Clan of the Cave Bear" and although it is a work of fiction, the main character who is a human woman living with her adopted Neanderthal family, she displays remarkable intelligence and strong will.

  6. There is in fact no intelligent life on Earth.
