Ohio backpacking trips?

I need a fall backpacking trip before I go crazy for the winter. I'm up for an 8 hour drive in any direction to get somewhere. I've always gone the the east coast or headed way west for hiking trips, and am interested in discovering something closer. Anyone have any hidden gems they love? a two or three day backing loop would be great, but I'm up for ideas. I live in central ohio. (I've done the southern ohio old man's cave stuff to death. Also, there's too many people...)

  1. Have you tried Canada? Tobemory, Ontario has a great hike path called the Bruce Trail... and some nice little (but challenging) 2-3 day trips..

It might be a bit longer than 8 hr drive though..

Directions go north from the Blue Water Bridge after you cross from Sarnia!!
