Weekend trip from Columbus Ohio?

Me and my husband want to take a quick weekend getaway, somewhere with in driving distance. We will be leaving from central Ohio and are willing to drive up to 8 hours. Just want something fun but relaxing, a quiet getaway. We have already done Hocking Hills, we really enjoyed that but are looking for something different. We are both just completely stumped...any suggestions?

  1. Geneva on the Lake at Lake Erie

  2. well if you're willing to make the drive cross over to canada...it's relaxing and you can enjoy the festival going on right now on the detroit border.

  3. How about Gatlinburg TN, there is something for everyone in Gatlinburg. You can stay in the town and enjoy the shops and restrurants, or in the Mountains if you enjoy nature.

  4. I would go to Put In Bay because I like the water. Part of the island is restaurants and bars with live music and such, but the other part of the island is very quiet. Its fun to get gold carts and ride around and you can visit the caves and learn a little history and see the winery.

I have never been to Memphis, but I think it would be fun to visit Graceland!

8 hours is a lot. I grew up in NEOhio and lived in Columbus for a while. We used to drive everywhere. I don't remember exactly, but I think maybe you can even make it to Ocean City, Washington DC, lots of places. If you like the drive, you could pick a silly destination like Hershey PA and just enjoy the ride!
