Logan, UT and Utah State University?

I might be going to USU for college. I live in Texas, pretty close to Dallas and am used to a pretty decent sized city and life. Is there a lot of stuff to do in Logan? Is there a lot of culture there too? I have heard that it is a really small town with not much but a lake. Anyone else have any opinions? BTW, I am not Mormon, should I have any trouble up there? I'm not very religious. Thanks for the input

  1. I live in Logan and went to school at USU. Cache Valley has about 100,000 people, so it isn't tiny, but it isn't a big city. Salt Lake is only an hour and half away, so if you want it isn't that big of a deal to go there.

There are a few bars, but not any night clubs. But there are some good house parties, you just have to meet the right people so you know where they are.

We have tons of outdoor stuff if you are into that. Rock Climbing, kayaking, ski resort, hiking, fishing, snowmobiling ect.

We do have an Opera Company and a good ballet, It's not Broadway, but it isn't bad.

In the summer there is a great art and music festival. Every weekend there is a farmers market.

And if you are going to be buying a house or condo I would be happy to help you out.

  2. There are a lot of outdoors activities. The thing I like about USU is that it isn't a commuter school. Most of the students uprooted their lives and moved there. It's a very social school. My one gripe would be that it get's cold early, get's colder, and stays cold longer.

Didn't go there, but I had a lot of friends who did.
