Has anyone been to Hocking Hills, Ohio and stayed at one of the cabins?
Just getting some personal stories and experiences.......did you enjoy it? Why or why not? What are some interesting things to do there?

- Loved it, beautiful, tranquil, green! Hiking is a must. Old Man's Cave and the waterfall a must. Wear good hiking shoes with non-skid soles and bring bug repellant. The cabins are nice as well.
Lancaster, Athens, Columbus, Logan are all short drives if you desire more to eat, see, or shop.

- The cabins are great. My wife and I always stay in the small cabins. They're nice, clean and private. Great for a short, relaxing vacation. We recommend Summit Haven Retreat: http://www.hockinghills.com/summithaven/
I've known these folks for years and they always treat us like royalty when we visit. It's not far from Old Man's Cave - great hiking and scenery especially in autumn. You're very near Ohio Amish country. Columbus is only about an hour northwest. I prefer early spring, fall and winter to visit. Summers get pretty warm and the hot tub just isn't as appealing when it's hot outside.
I've scared off deer and wild turkeys that get up close to the cabin. Loads of raccoons and other critters that will make a mess if you don't secure all your trash before turning-in at night.
- We loved it there! We rented a cabin that was pet friendly and took our dog. You can't take dogs in all of the parks but some do allow it.
We also had a fire pit and hot tub at our cabin.
Very relaxing.
